The Traditional and Sport Wushu Federation originally existed as the Wushu Tongbei Federation (since 1992) and the dominant direction was the school Ma family style - Tongbei. As we had developed our international relationships and accumulated more information about various wushu styles, the Federation got the interregional status and took its present name assuming teaching of a wider spectrum of styles and methods of traditional wushu, qigong, and sanshou. It is a non-profit-making organization uniting people of different ages and occupations, the principle aim of which is to popularize healthy way of life among people.

In the contemporary society the objective of the Federation is studying the heritage of traditional wushu, creating methodology by using modern scientific approaches in all the fields of the human studies, carrying out seminars and courses for coaches. Work with children from the families with low income and teenagers takes a considerable place in the work of the Federation. There are sport camps for children where our young sportsmen not only master their wushu, but improve their cultural and educational level.

The very important part of work of the Federation is devoted to training of younger generations. We organize lectures and talks for school and college students, their parents and teaching staff. We view the problems of self-perfection as development of moral values, deliberate attitude to every feeling, action; active position in life and love for their native land. Sport gatherings for children are also held, and in addition to intensive wushu training, children get comprehensive general training, including study of foreign languages, literature, sport dances, swimming, equestrian and many other activities.
